NWSS IS LIKE A LARGE FAMILY
North West Surrey Synagogue community puts Sharing and Caring at the forefront of everything we do.
Communication between members is essential. We strive that when you enter our doors you will be welcomed and greeted with warmth and a smiling face. Our Security Team are our welcoming team and they are chosen carefully to make every visitor comfortable.
We have our unique Harry’s Bar serving fresh coffee, tea, bagels and challah rolls that is open every Sunday when Cheder takes place. You can chat and chill, study and work, hold a meeting and welcome members young and old – you can even join our team of volunteers who work with us to ensure that Harry’s Bar flourishes.
One of the co-ordinators of our team – Gay Moss, is the person who runs our JACS (Jewish Association of Cultural Studies) meetings on Wednesday afternoons which attracts excellent speakers. Many of the attendees are members of local synagogues.
NWSS are very proud of their Sharing and Caring Seminars. Last December we invited teams from Jewish Care and JAMI (Jewish Association of Mentally Ill) to come and talk about dementia, depression and isolation. Several of these seminars have taken place over the last few years and we have found them to be a great starting point for people to learn more, not only about the issues discussed, but where and how to seek help.
Above all, we are dedicated to listening and caring – to laughing and welcoming.
