Chai Cancer Care – cancer support organisation for the Jewish Community
Chai Cancer Care provides expert advisory services; medical, legal, financial and spiritual. There is a Support Centre in Hendon, and services are also provided in other locations. A home support service is available to clients who are unable to visit the community sites.

JAMI – a positive approach to mental health in the Jewish Community
JAMI provides mental health services to the Jewish Community. The organisation provides care, support, education and training for people with mental illness and help to relatives and carers.

JAT – Jewish Action and Training for sexual health
JAT is a charity, based in North London, providing sexual health programmes and support for Jewish people and their carers who are living with HIV and AIDS. JAT runs education workshops in schools, youth clubs, and summer camps and also trains youth workers. JAT also runs a Parents’ Programme to help them feel comfortable about talking to their children about relationships and sexual health.

Jewish Bereavement Counselling Service – help in bereavement
Many people need support following a bereavement, and family and friends can be of great help. Yet, it may be difficult to talk to those we know well about our emotions. Sometimes it may be helpful to talk to someone who is not emotionally involved but is there to listen and care. The Jewish Bereavement Counselling Service are volunteer counsellors, professionally trained and supervised, who work with people of all ages. A counsellor will offer support and help you explore difficulties, and find strengths within yourself.

Their Community Centres are a focal point for communities – bringing people together, promoting health and wellbeing and encouraging people to learn new skills. The Family Carers’ Service provides much-needed support and information for anyone who is caring for a relative or friend.

The JMC is committed to the promotion of well-being for all members of the Jewish community in modern society. Their services include a counselling service, advice services, courses and workshops, and a professional personalised introduction agency.

JWA runs a refuge in London for women and their children; offers a national confidential free-phone helpline; provides outreach support to women in the community; seeks to raise awareness of the existence of domestic abuse within the Jewish community and work towards its eradication.
