The NWSS Community
|
|
|
|
NWSS is a very special place to be. We are a constituent member of the Movement
for Reform Judaism which means that we try to be open and inclusive while valuing
the traditional Jewish values of learning, caring for each other and praying together.
Our members come from throughout the length and breadth of Surrey .. and beyond!
They have diverse backgrounds, needs and interests which make the community an interesting
and lively place. There are young couples, families with children, and those no longer quite so young.
Singles and marrieds. Those whose partners are Jewish and those whose partners are not.
Jews by Choice. Citizens of the world stopping off for
just a few years in Weybridge and locals who have been with us for years.
Our members join the synagogue for so many reasons: to pray, to feel part of a Jewish community
in a very non-Jewish part of the country, to socialise, to learn, to celebrate with us
and to feel sad with us, giving comfort, joy and company to each other.
In other words, we are a real community and that feeling of belonging is, we believe, something that we
can offer to those who wish to join us in our little Jewish corner of Surrey.
