What a great time we’ve had over the past week celebrating Purim in our very own three-cornered way!
Thank you to everyone who came out and braved the Beast from the East on Wednesday for a fantastic interpretation and Megiallah reading from Lynette Nusbacher and again on Friday for fancy dress and more Megillah recitals followed by a delicious Chavurah Supper. We had over 30 people on the night – a fantastic turnout especially given the treacherous weather. And proceedings were brilliantly rounded off on Sunday with an unforgettable performance of the Purim Story told through Beatles melodies. The Cheder children sang beautifully and of course we must give a special mention to Maya Daniel, what a wonderful voice, thank you for sharing that with us. And of course thank you to all the fantastic cast from the scene changers to the royalty! And the fun didn’t stop there!
We then enjoyed an action packed Purim Fair with cakes, a tombola, nail painting and tattoo transfers, hook a duck activity and Mishloach Manot, collecting sweets for members of the Community who couldn’t be there, with beautiful heart shaped, woven paper baskets. Thanks also to Harry’s Bar for providing Hot Dogs, Bagels and of course Hamantashen.
In total we raised a fantastic £250 for this year’s chosen charity WaterAid!
Here are a few photos that capture the fun of the various festivities:
