Music

Music plays a big part in our synagogue life. As well as monthly Erev Shabbat musical services, led by our Rabbi and a band of enthusiastic musicians, known as the “Jammin’ Jews” or “JJs”.

The JJs often rehearse informally during our Sunday Nitzanim morning classes in the synagogue Hall. You are always welcome to come along and jam. All you need is a musical instrument.

We also have a small choir of four – soprano, alto, tenor and bass – who sing at services, festivals and special events. Choir members do not need to be able to sight-sing, just be able to hold a melody. We are always on the look-out (ear-out) for new members, so please contact us if you are keen.

There is also a comprehensive Music Library in our Members’ Area, with music scores (for vocalists), chords and lyrics and recordings.

Synagogue members can access it by clicking this link here and signing into your Members’ Area account.
